There is not enough wind in Lancaster to make a wind turbin worth it......trust me, Ive seen the maps of the studies. If you don't believe me call Gib Armstrongs office and talk to Stewart

Most of Lancaster County is Wind Power Class 2

While this may be considered 'marginal', two things about Lancaster County are beneficial: 1) Lots of land and 2) Lots of power lines.

Also, the wind maps are only estimates (thus the reason for this study) and are designed primarily around determining utility-grade locations: high-concentration wind farms for maximum profit, meaning more wind = more power at a lower cost. Local or small-scale projects are another story, and it would seem feasible for our area.

I think they chose a great location, the topography helps.
