As he left the building, bank tellers called police, giving a description of the robber and what he was wearing.
Within minutes of the dispatch, Officer Calvin Steidler arrived in the area and happened to spot a car pulling out onto Buch Avenue from the rear of a nearby business.
Steidler, who was in uniform and on foot, tried to stop the car, Rudzinski said, but the woman behind the wheel refused to pull over.
The policeman notified other officers and the car was stopped by Officer John Davidson in the Blossom Hill housing development.
