QUOTE
from the article (snip): The robber, wearing a ski mask and dark clothing, displayed a revolver, police said, as he moved behind the counter and removed cash from bank drawers.
No one was hurt during the holdup, and the robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, walking south on Lititz Pike, Rudzinski said.
As he left the building, bank tellers called police, giving a description of the robber and what he was wearing.
Within minutes of the dispatch, Officer Calvin Steidler arrived in the area and happened to spot a car pulling out onto Buch Avenue from the rear of a nearby business.
Steidler, who was in uniform and on foot, tried to stop the car, Rudzinski said, but the woman behind the wheel refused to pull over.
The policeman notified other officers and the car was stopped by Officer John Davidson in the Blossom Hill housing development.
Oh my goodness! Great job. The new score; Bank robbers 265 - Township Police 2.

Steidler, who was in uniform and on foot, tried to stop the car ...

The officer was probably walking the block looking for evidence that may have been dropped by the robbers. Yet, he was there soon enough after the event to help! There is hope!
