"As was clearly stated (must be why you didn't understand it), I know much more about all aspects of that time period than you could ever hope to." LancCitizen
You may think so. What you apparently know are all the little nuances that are part of the official story. I know most of them, plus the other side of the story. And you claim to know more. I don't see how that is a remote possibility, without reading from both sides. Something you have repeatedly shown your aversion to.
Do you even understand the concept "the victor writes the history"? Does goodness and light win every war in your estimation? That's a much simpler plan than reading from both sides, granted, but are you getting the whole story?
I stopped being impressed with folks who could repeat back rote lessons in like third grade. Certainly not impressed by an adult who does it. If you know half of what you claim, you should have doubts about the official story.
Never a reply to my questions, just blather. And now, bragging. Yawn.
Good try at diversion. Didn't work though. I know more than you could ever hope to know. You see, I'm not a closed minded, white-supremist bigot like you are so I'm able to listen to all sides, not just the "white view" like you are limited to.
You can fancy yourself a scholar, you can fancy yourself anything you like, but the truth is, everyone can see right through you for you are too one dimensional to prevent the wind from whipping your paper-thin argument to the side, showing what is behind it.
I do feel sorry for you on many levels, however, with your unwillingness, or more likely, inability to listen to further your knowledge, there is no reason to waste valuable time trying to help you comprehend something you will never be capable of comprehending.
Don't mistake not falling into your poorly laid and easily escaped traps at dodging your questions, it's actually just acknowledging that your questions have no merit and deserve no attention, as is the case with all other racists and their attempts at justifying their hatred.

I have to be honest, I live well below the Mason/Dixon line and you live well above it. Anyone flying the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia up there is doing it for one reason and one reason only. In an almost all-white school in Pennsylvania, these kids are only doing it for intimidation.
Unfortunately, this flag and it's meaning has been hi-jacked by racists fringe organizations and (even more unfortunately) was used by States during forced de-segregation during the 1950s and 1960s. These groups and the southern States who "adopted" the flag as part of their State flags also did it for one reason and one reason only.
Any true southerner who wants to honor his/her ancestors who fought in The War Between the States should only fly the first national or the stainless banner. I have gotten so that I only fly the first national flag at my home. It looks better and has none of the ugly connotations that the battle flag has unfortunately gathered over the years.
These kids aren't southerners. They have no right to claim any southern heritage and were only doing this to intimidate the black kids in their school.
Thank you for stating exactly what is being done. You are right. Anyone ABOVE the mason-dixon line flies that flag for no reason other than hatred. There are many people in the south who are SICK of seeing racist little 'supremists' using the confederate flag as a symbol for their hatred when so many people died fighting for what it REALLY stood for just as many die now, from that same area, for hte US flag.
There is absolutely no reason and no excuse for anyone born and raised above the mason dixon line to fly that flag, they do it for purposes of hatred, and NOTHING else.
Excellent post

I have one of those flags, too.
Why?
If not for racist purposes, WHY do YOU have one of those flags?
It should be forcibly taken from you by southerners who are sick of you using THEIR heritage as a message of hatred.

Akron. .
please say you aren't speaking of "Akron Ohio", but instead, of some "Akron" that is actually southern. Ohio isn't even close to being southern and isn't much different from Lancater County.
Just clarifying.
The borders for "The South" are the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers over to the Mason-Dixon line and it ends at the Florida border. Florida is "part of New Jersey that broke off and floated down".
