Whoa, gang--don't misunderstand what I am speculating on. The theory just crossed my mind. It would be easy enough also to say that the boys were entwined in some rivalry over a girl, or that one beat the other out of a sharp-shooter trophy. And yet, to public knowledge so far revealed, no such information came from peer interviews.
Also the same for RH's reply. I meant no disservice to the memory of the Hainses by voicing a theory for motive in the murders. And in the world of motives, there could be others just as likely. Bit I dunno. I still have a gut feeling that they were "closer" than others knew. But then again, the question of drugs sheds some interesting light. I hadn't mulled that around much given reports that the two were better students.
As for Goldilocks...your vitriole makes me want to puke every time I read it. I've said it before and I'll say it again...you are the biggest whack job I have ever read.

You have every right to disagree with me and you can call me what ever you please, but I still maintain that when crimes such as these are committed the responsibility falls on the individual committing them and no one else. Clearly this young man was mentally ill and no amount of pressure from anyone is enough to motivate any sane person to do something so evil.

I also concur with Ron Harper in that I feel that to use this family's deaths as a political tool would be inappropriate.

Well, speculation goes on, eventiually it will come out as the D.A. has stated.

As the case moves forward in the judicial system, documents will come out that will answer some of these questions and probably raise more speculation.
Until the facts come out, no one knows the why or other unanswered questions in the case.

Okay, flame me for speculating, but I am going to anyway:
In the article on the internet SPECULATING that this was motivated by Alec possibly being "outed" it mentioned that there was a single businessman in his late 30's from Hummelstown that was seen hanging with these boys quite often.
(Note: if you have teenaged sons and an adult male is hanging around with them a lot - this is a danger signal.)
Could this man have been corrupting these boys in some way? A man this age having sexual relations with boys their age is not a "gay relationship" it is molestation. These boys could have been very confused about their sexuality. Perhaps Kevin confided in his parents. Perhaps this man, afraid of what would happen convinced Alec that if he didn't kill Kevin and his parents all of their lives would be ruined. Etc. Etc.

This is not always the case. I had some males take me fishing and stuff like that when I was growing up that were husbands of my mothers co-workers. They were just trying to help out when my parents were going through marital problems and my own father wasn't around. Not one of them every did anything improper.
What should take place is a parent and child should always have OPEN COMMUNICATION and the child should know that ALL topics are open for discussion. And most importantly, children need to know proper and improper

"touching" and to report it to an adult that they trust. The best person to communicate what is going on in a child's life, is the child!
