Anti-puppy mill people do not Focus on the religion. The Fact is that in Lancaster PA, which is known as the Puppy mill Capital of the East Coast, the Majority of puppy mill breeders are either Amish or Mennonite. That is a fact, not a focus. Notice I did not say all. I will leave it up to you to decide if there is connection between the religion and the puppy mill business.
It seems this never ending focus from some people who insist on saying anti-puppy mill people target religion, is just an attempt to water it down! Who cares what religion is practiced, what matters is the humane treatment of animals.

Agreed, focus on the problem, not a religion.

The Amish and Mennonite get targeted because they are the majority of the breeders. I have seen it first hand. They hide the illegal dogs in barns, cellars, etc. Watch how they treat their work horses. Their work horses are their tractors - it's not an animal. They do not have compasion for the animal. To them, animals are there to serve a purpose. Period.
oh never mind

sorry - I didn't make my post more specific. I was only trying to add light to why people turn it into a religious thing in this area. It has nothing to do with religion.
The point I was trying to make is why the Amish/Mennonite get targeted IN LANCASTER COUNTY. Most of these puppy mills are on farms. Do you know why that is? It's not because of needing land to build the kennels. Farmers are tyring to supplements their incomes due to falling prices. We have a farm, we do not raise puppies, but we are always trying to find ways to supplement our income.

If you want to keep religion out of it, then don't refer to Amish in your posts. Simply say puppy millers. Being Amish has nothing to do with it. If you are targeting puppy millers then call them that.
