What jurisdiction does the FBI have in this case? I don't understand that at all.

There was mention in another thread that a reporter asked if the family was in the midst of handling some sort of harrassment through legal channels. I don't know if that panned out to be something or not. I do know that the FBI will get involved quite willingly in harrassment cases. As they said, they aren't divulging everything they know already... Perhaps the FBI is involved for reasons that have not been made public yet.

I believe the MT police called in the FBI to help process some evidence they had gathered. Perhaps they have the means to get information from items that police departments don't have.
