Packing heat in plain view
Surprise. In Pennsylvania and 43 other states, any law-abiding resident 18 and older can carry a loaded handgun on his hip in plain view to shopping malls, restaurants and on strolls down the street. No permits required, no questions asked. You thought you needed a permit for that? Nope, only if you conceal the gun.

This is the kicker. State reps. Jewell Williams, Angel Cruz & Thaddeus Kirkland want a full investigation of someone holding up a banner saying they should be hung from the liberty tree. Our founding fathers must be turning over in their graves. I think they were saying the same think about King George. Williams says he is going to wear his gun more often. The banner was racist and a threat. Give me a break. These guys have to get a life. This is what is wrong with polotics today. These guys trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. They want there name in the paper so they can show there voters they are doing something to earn the too large salary. This whole gun thing is a joke. I can see the criminals lining up now to register their guns. I have been carrying a gun for thiorty six years and I am not going to stop carrying it, now that I am retired.

Actually, I think most college aged kids who join the services are too young and immature to be on the battle field. That being said, they are very very highly trained before getting on the battle field. Thats not what we're talking about here. The supposition was that if every joe college kid in the classrooms at Va Tech had weapons, there would have been less bloodshed. How does that not make sense? Did you go to college? Did you not know kids there who you would prefer not have a gun on campus?
So lets say you pass the screening process, then something happens afterwards. Like you go crazy or something. How is the government going to know that you, now a crazy person, owns a gun? The issue isn't about the amount of the tax, its about accountability of gun ownership and ensuring that each person that owns a gun is still qualified to do so.

no i didnt go to college, but my daughter and her friends do and i find them to be highly intelligent and very reasonable young people. Do they party and have fun, of course, but they also work very hard.

As far as "going bonkers" after you already own a gun, your logic is weak. Every day people are running around in a 2 ton weapon called a car, in my opinion much more dangerous than a gun. Should the bum politicians rape us for a 6 month or 1 year re exam to determine if one is beginning to lose their grasp of reality?Maybe they could steal 50 or 100 bucks for this service to protect me from myself and others

I didn't say kids in school don't work hard. I know they do, and I was one of them. I also saw many many violent fights at various parties over some of silliest things you could imagine. If there had been guns, I can pretty much gaurantee that death would have been a part of those fights.

Take the money out of the equation. Would you be ok with the government getting involved then? What about a mandatory entry into a centralized database for anyone determined to be mentally ill by a court of law, or anyone who is admitted into an mental institution. Said database could be cross referenced to a centrlized database of gun owners and gun ownership privs revoked. Its really not about the money. If you don't feel there should any government regulations or "intrusion" after the initial purchase of a gun, why would you support such intrusions at the time of purchase? I could understand if your stance was that anyone should be able to buy/own a gun at anytime no matter what. But I don't understand why government intrusion is acceptable to you at the time of purchase but not after the fact.

I don't know, I think the analogy still applies. She is just an extreme example, perhaps compensating for NO penis rather than a small one.

I'm sure it pleases you to think that. Fact is, she's a lady who takes responsibillity for her own immediate safety. The cops can't always be there at the instant they are needed. Speaking of which, who was the genius who earlier said that even cops don't have their weapons when they're out with their families? Just because the weapon can't be seen, doesn't mean they aren't carrying. The ones I know do.

Relax...it was just a joke. I couldn't care less whether or not she has a shot gun and for what reasons.
