Gee theres a shock, the Amish/Mennonites causing problems at Regency. News flash THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. Ask any person that plays adult league hickey in lancaster. This crap happens all the time with them. Trust me I know. I grew up playing ice hockey and played through college. I played all along the east coast and in canada.....and very few games that I can remember rivaled the dirty viciousness of playing the Amish/Mennonites at Regency. They have caused so many injuries and so many players (including me) have left because of them. No one wants to play them. Regency used to have a one of the best leagues around for adults, now they barely have any teams left. All the guys have left and went to Hershey or York to play. And if you ask any one of those guys, 100% will tell you it's because of the Amish/Menonite teams. Hell the Hershey league has a lot of guys who played college, juniors or even semi pro/minor league hockey. A lot of those guys used to play in Lancaster, but the got sick of all the crap. Guys were sick of getting in fights/beat up, cheat shotted and what not. It got so bad that for a while the Amish/Mennonites really only played each other because no one would play them. Hopefully this guy gets banned from Regency for good and his team gets disbanded.

He probably couldn't stand up on the ice. Most of them can't....it's hysterical, they almost look like they are running on the ice. And thats why they get ticked off and start using their sticks on people and all that crap.

So much for pacifism I wonder if this will affect their CO status?

It probably comes from playing so much on farm ponds with no refs. It is like the kid on the street growing up with back ally basketball and then put in an arena with shouting fans and a ref. They grow up only playing pick up games and have no concept of calling their own fouls. I've worked in both Amish and plain Mennonite carpenter crews while in college and I know they can be very competitive. From my experience it is usually the mennonites that are more the problem then amish.

It would be nice if they didn't isolate themselves so much so it is such an "us and them" kind of team. It brings almost a racial undertone to the game.

I used to play against these mennonite and amish street hockey teams in the Lancaster Rec League and it was the same thing. Teams out of Gap and Christiana. They couldn't play the game and always took stupid penalties and got blown out of games as a result. Sounds like all they did was strap on skates and move to the ice rinks once they built them in Lancaster in the 90's?
Different surface. Same idiots.
