Rats with wings, pure and simple.

it's a shame you have so little regard for birds
QUOTE(SusQRiverRat @ Mar 8 2007, 12:24 AM)

These birds live in their own feces, crap all over everything and everbody, and carry as many as 65 seperate diseases, many of which are serious or fatal to humans..

I hate to see misinformation spread around. PIgeons, nor any other bird for that matter, "live in their own feces". ABsolutely not true. A bird's feathers must be clean to fly.

What "65 diseases"? Where did you get this information?

But the anti cruelty crowd will go out of their way to protect them by introducing bill after bill since 1999.
and the problem??
QUOTE(SusQRiverRat @ Mar 8 2007, 12:24 AM)

Meanwhile a bill introduced in 2004 (HB 1113) to punish people who kill innocent children with up to life in prison dies in committee. I guess it all has to do with priorities.

how do you correlate pigeons with kids? The two have nothing to do with each other.this is a thread about shooting pigeons, not child protection laws.

Do they throw the pidgeons in the trash after they shoot them?

OR, do they first cook Pidgeon Pot Pie, then throw the inedible parts in the trash?

Maybe they use trash cans to catch the pidgeons as they fall.

Is a pidgeon in the hand worth two in the trash?

I see this bill would make it illegal to attend a pidgeon shoot. Is that constitutional?

they could always start composting the pidgeon carcasses, I hear it works great with dead chickens, even cattle,

Hey guys - I believe you mean "pigeons"?? That is unless you're referring to LNP reporter Dave Pidgeon. I don't think he'd appreciate being shot at and thrown in the trash. Decent reporters are hard to come by these days.

Yes, Melody, pigeons DO live in their own feces. I think you need to do a little research about them. They use the feces in their nests as a sort of glue. I had an infestation in my carriage house and after the birds were removed (humanely, I might add), had to deal with the nests. I assure you that the poop was there in massive quantities. So much so, that I had to wear a dust mask and a Tyvek suit to avoid contact.
Google is your friend. If you do some research, you will find that I speak the truth concerning the health dangers of these birds. I know you are a bird lover, and so am I, but not all birds are cute and cuddly, especially pigeons.
I was drawing an analogy concerning the priorities of society. Special interests will go out of their way to protect a pigeon, but won't work as hard to protect innocent children. 13 innocent children were brutally murdered in Lancaster County in 2003, and none of the killers will spend more than 40 years in prison for killing them. Most will be back out on the streets in 20 years or less.
