well I guess post # 8 was a bit vague, Craig was very personable from the first time I had met him that is important to me. he seems to be very qualified for the job.

Yes, I said why in post #8
To vote for a candidate simply because they are NOT an incumbent is asking for serious trouble.

For example: Craig Lehman is an unapologetic supporter of the proposed taxpayer-financed hotel and convention center project. There are limits to how much money can be collected from the "hotel tax". Are you prepared to support a candidate who would vote in favor of increasing YOUR property taxes to support a downtown Lancaster convention center?

Craig Lehman is a Lancaster City Democrat. His loyalties are to his campaign managers, City Council President Julianne Dickson and former County Commissioner Ron Ford (who was behind the hotel/cc project AND the Youth Detention Center on Sunnyside), as well as to Lancaster City Mayor Rick Gray, and to Pat Brogan, de-facto leader of the Lancaster City Democrats, and former head of Planned Parenthood in Lancaster. Lancaster City has about 1/9th of the total population of Lancaster County. Whose interests do you think Craig Lehman is going to put first?

The only statement about Craig Lehman in the article is this:
QUOTE
Lehman, a former city councilman and senior budget analyst in the state House, pledged to build partnerships as a commissioner.
So Craig Lehman is a bona-fide Harrisburg insider. Whose interests do you think Craig Lehman is going to put first?

What exactly does "build partnerships" mean? That is about as vague a statement as can be made. Does anyone really know what Craig Lehman actually stands for? What would be his policies and priorities as County Commissioner.

We already know Molly Henderson is a fiscal conservative. With Craig Lehman already in favor of a massive expenditure of taxpayer dollars that will only benefit a few special interests, who knows what else he intends to do with your tax dollars?

Craig Lehman IS a very nice person, I said that earlier. And he is probably qualified to be a County Commissioner. But is Craig Lehman the right kind of person to be a County Commissioner in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania?

What kind of policies would he follow? Would he continue to push an agenda that favors the City? Would he continue to push to spend taxpayer dollars on projects that benefit only a few special interests, like he is with the proposed taxpayer-financed hotel and convention center project? Exactly where are his priorities?

Is Craig Lehman the right candidate for Lancaster County Commissioner? OR, is Craig Lehman the right candidate for the Democratic party of Lancaster City? The difference is critical.

Craig Lehman IS a very nice person

don't know if I or others want a "nice" person in this position.

Most politions are NICE when they meet you. Craig was nice when I met him. Also seemed a little slippery. Met him this past Nov. he said then he supported the convention center because he felt it is the right thing. He now says he supports it because the fight is lost and may as well just support it. So, which is it?

He seems slippery.

Dang, Cecil, that's another thing that we agree on. He is slippery.

Craig is indeed nice, and very intelligent..... and slippery, and a city dem "lifer" and a former city council member who toed the party line 100% of the time...

... and, I believe, someone who thinks he'll be running for mayor in the future, once he has enough brownie points and dirty little secrets gathered up in his nest

His above-average intelligence gives him the power to make the most absurd arguments sound reasonable to the average person, and his added mastery of dubious numbers makes him the most dangerous snake-oil peddler on the block.

Want smoke and mirror tricks that make David Copperfield look amateur? Vote for Craigh Lehman.
