He admitted it to the newspapers, why wouldn't he have admitted it to his congregation. There is a minister in one of the churches that shares the same denomination as ours, who served prison time. He was converted in prison and has remorse and shame over his former life, but has completely forsaken it, for many years. All in his congregation are fully aware of his past.

I also know a couple of ministers that were literal He** before they allowed Christ to enter their lives. I think they make the best shepards, they can relate to some of the trials and tribulations man has to go through yet also have the enlightenment of the gospel to lead you on a solid path.

But will conservative Wrightsville really go for a gay mayor that likes to touch boy's private areas?

Once again, a sick person is hiding behind God. People of the cloth are supposed to be held to a higher moral standard. The law should not allow him to run for Mayor. Hopefully the people of Wrightsville will vote for Dawn Lindeman. I would hope that they wouldn't be that Republican that they would vote in a convicted felon over a Democrat. Maybe they will find they even like her.? If they vote in the felon in hopes of having his election overturned and it fails to happen, they get what they deserve.
