At one time it was said that 1 in 10 men were gay?

This movie sounds fascinating. I am sure it was very painful for Smiley, her mother, and the rest of the family to present the unvarnished truth about her mother's mental illness and its impact on them.

I can't attend the screening tonight--I wonder if there's anywhere else it can be seen.

I too applaud this woman for bringing such a tender subject to light. It's one of those skeletons that no one likes to bring out and talk about when it comes to family matters. Is this movie going to be shown any other time locally or broadcasted?

Digger, welcome to TalkBack. I also would like to find out how to see this movie. If I find any information about that, I'll post it here.

One of my friends growing up had a "weird" family, and, when she finally told us that her mom was schizophrenic, we were all quite enlightened with a new perspective on the "weirdness". I can understand the desire to keep mental illness under wraps due to the stigma attached, but the secrecy usually leads to more problems for an already-struggling family.
