yes why should a terrorist or illegal alien who wants to buy a gun have to provide a social security number that can be checked when a fake drivers license will do just fine??
Joe, that's just plain discrimination.

The terrorists and illegal aliens who live among us have the same right as we legal citizens. Self protection, as guaranteed by the US Constitution, should not just be for law abiding Americans. Terrorists and illegals are people too, and they have rights. What next ... GITMO?

Requiring anyone to provide social security numbers when purchasing weapons is discriminatory, and not what America is all about. Right, Joe?

i think it's right neighborly of us to build a 750 mile fence along our 1200 mile border.

let's them know we aren't really serious while placating the complainers at home.

let 'em all have as many guns as they want.what harm can that possibly do??

What happened to the other 450 miles? Why only do a part of the job?

Fences can be cut with wire cutters. What is needed is a DOUBLE fence topped with razor wire, with a dog run between, similar to some military bases. Why should the borders of the US be protected any less than a military base?

Then there is CANADA. God forbid if any of those extreme-left-wing liberals would try to sneak into the US and dilute our right-wing self-centered form of government. They might even promote NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE! Besides, how do we know that Al-Qaeda hasn't already moved entire batallions of terrorists across the thousands of unguarded miles of border between the US and Canada. Since Canada has literally tens of thousands of miles of completely unguarded borders to its north, Al-Quaeda would have unrestricted access to northern Canada from the now-thawed (thanks to global warming) Northwest Passage. These terrorists are so determined that they might have stockpiled massive amounts of Gore-Tex clothing so these desert natives could survive the passage through the far north. Besides, Canada is so wide-open and scarcely populated that Osama Bin-Laden might already have crossed into the US!!!!!!!

What the US needs is constantly-monitored secure borders both north AND south. The US needs to bring back the draft, and (like Israel) require ALL young people to spend three to four years in service to their country. These draftees would spend the first two years of their conscription patrolling our borders, both on land and along the coasts, then spend the rest of their enlistment fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan - and perhaps Iran.

To fund this, Bush's tax cuts will need to be repealed. All Federal grant money for all social and economic development projects must be transferred to the military. If the US doesn't maintain the largest and most powerful military in the world, how can it possibly defend itself from all the enemies it has made?

Besides, if you haven't figured it out by now:

What ever happended to Social Security identification numbers being only for use of the S S administration? When was this change to it being a defacto National Identification Number?

What's next, having it tatooed on to our forearm?

Bush gotta protect us from dem ayerab terraists so no loss of rights or privacy is too much.
